SAFETY HARBOR, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Identifi, the leading independent provider of workflow automation and document management software for banks and credit unions, is a finalist for the 2026 Credit Union Times Luminaries Awards in the Product Innovation Organization – Advances in AI category. The recognition centers on AI Document Review, a signature-completeness tool built into the company's Document Tracking platform.

Where general-purpose platforms fall short
Most credit unions manage documents on platforms built for general business operations and then configured for banking. Those platforms organize files, store records, and clear exceptions when documents arrive.
What they don't do is confirm whether what arrived was actually complete, because that logic was never part of their design. A lending contract with a blank signature line passes the same tracking check as a fully executed one, and both clear the exception and sit in the repository.
The difference surfaces when a credit union needs that document for a foreclosure, a court motion, or an NCUA examination. By then, collecting a corrected signature means tracking down the borrower, restarting the process, and paying for a problem that should have been caught when the document arrived.
Built and tested inside real credit union operations
Identifi spent 2025 putting a new product into live credit union operations before releasing it publicly, a step most software companies skip in favor of shipping straight out of the lab. No standardized test environment generates the document diversity a live credit union produces daily, so two credit union partners ran the early system against their real operational document sets instead.
That real-world mess is exactly what made the product accurate. A lab test would have missed the fact that joint account-holder documents carry different signature requirements than single-account ones, or that internal fields like ReviewedBy and CompletedBy follow workflow logic instead of document format. Early on, the system even over-flagged optional and conditional fields alongside required ones, burying the exceptions that actually mattered.
Every one of those problems became a rule in the final product, built because Identifi's team understood the credit union operations behind each one.
The launch, and the recognition that followed
AI Document Review launched in April 2026 with the rules from that year of testing already built in, tuned to the account structures, document types, and workflow logic the two credit union partners had put in front of it. By launch, monthly volume had scaled from approximately 2,000 documents during initial validation to more than 4,000 at steady state, with roughly 40 review jobs running per month.
That volume covered the document types most scrutinized during NCUA examinations, including signature cards, account-opening forms, lending and servicing documents, fraud records, and wire packets.
That same month, Identifi picked up a second industry nod, shortlisted for Best AI Solution and Best RegTech Solution at the Banking Tech Awards USA. With two award nominations and a Luminaries finalist nod in the same year, the message is clear: the completeness gap AI Document Review addresses is one the industry recognizes too.
"No tracking system on the market could confirm whether a stored document was actually signed correctly," said Kaushal Pandya, CEO of Identifi. "That's the gap AI Document Review closes, and it's one that institutions didn't know they could address until now."
What closing that gap means for credit unions
Vendors used to be judged mainly on whether they could find a document. Now, credit unions want proof that it's actually complete, a question that used to land on compliance staff during an audit or an exam, when there was no time left to fix what tracking should have caught months earlier.
Identifi has spent 35 years building document management software exclusively for credit unions, and that focus is the reason AI Document Review works the way it does. A vendor without that history could build the same AI model and still miss what matters to a credit union's compliance team, because knowing what to flag takes more than good technology. It takes years of watching how credit unions operate.
