Good Gamer Group Uses Alchemer to Build Gamified Surveys that Tackle Survey Fatigue

Innovative approach incorporates game elements to deliver fun experience and better response rates

LOUISVILLE, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Alchemer, a global leader in customer experience and feedback intelligence, today announced that Good Gamer Group (GGG), a gaming market research community developed by Interpret, is leveraging Alchemer’s flexible survey and feedback intelligence solutions to build innovation into its surveys to boost response rates from its gaming community.

GGG used Alchemer’s easy-to-use, flexible survey platform to build “The Worst Survey in the World,” a novel approach that replaces traditional survey questions with playable mini-games. Created to tackle survey fatigue, the project demonstrates creativity and engagement innovation in survey design and feedback strategy.

“Good Gamer Group is a great example of what happens when companies rethink how they engage with their audiences,” said Ryan Tamminga, Chief Customer Officer, Alchemer. “By combining ease of use, automation and creative survey design, they’re making it easier and more enjoyable for gamers to share feedback while delivering valuable insights faster. Their gamified survey takes that innovation a step further, showing how Alchemer’s AI-powered solutions give organizations the flexibility to challenge conventional approaches and make customer feedback a better experience for everyone.”

A New Approach to Survey Engagement

Good Gamer Group challenged conventional survey design by creating the “worst” survey, a deliberately frustrating, gamified experience to demonstrate how interactive games can replace traditional survey questions to deliver better engagement and boost response rates.

Using Alchemer’s scripting and customization capabilities alongside AI-assisted coding, the team transformed familiar question formats into playable experiences, including a Flappy Bird-inspired yes-or-no question, a claw machine for multiple-choice selections, a basketball free throw for ratings and a carnival water-gun game for screening questions.

“What started as a fun challenge within the development team to rethink what a survey could be revealed something much bigger,” said Jesse Divnich, President, Good Gamer Group. “Survey fatigue is a problem across industries, and we saw an opportunity to change that. By making surveys more engaging, we can increase participation, reduce drop-offs and deliver better insights.”

Faster Research and Better Response Rates

Alchemer’s flexible customer feedback survey platform, as part of its broader research program, has yielded impactful results for Good Gamer Group:

  • Studies are completed in 24 hours – Research involving 500 to more than 1,000 respondents can be fielded and completed in a single day
  • Up to 70% of responses received in the first hour – Highly engaged participants respond quickly to targeted survey invitations
  • Fewer than 10% of participants are disqualified – Precise targeting helps ensure survey participants qualify for the research
  • Seamless integration – GGG integrates Alchemer with its customer relationship management system to eliminate repetitive demographic questions and leverages its incentive platform, Tremendous, to automatically deliver rewards upon survey completion
