Vultr Scales Next-Generation AI Infrastructure with AMD Helios Rackscale Solution Powered by AMD Instinct™ MI455X GPUs

Vultr becomes global provider for AMD Helios rackscale solution to scale enterprise, agentic, and AI inference workloads

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Vultr, the world’s largest privately held cloud infrastructure company, today announced that it is among the first cloud providers to offer the new AMD Instinct™ MI455X GPU and support for AMD Helios rackscale solution at AMD Advancing AI. Vultr is now taking pre-orders available in Q4 to help customers access and operate high-memory, rackscale-accelerated compute for training, inference, fine-tuning, agentic AI and HPC.

“Customers are rapidly moving from AI experimentation into production, and increasingly that means agentic and inference-heavy workloads that require infrastructure built for scale," said J.J. Kardwell, CEO of Vultr. "The AMD Instinct MI455X and Helios rackscale architecture give our customers the flexibility, control, and price-to-performance they need to scale their AI initiatives. Making this architecture available across Vultr's global infrastructure enables teams to build and deploy without constraints.”

Built on the next-generation AMD CDNA™ architecture, AMD Instinct™ MI455X GPUs deliver breakthrough performance and efficiency for the most demanding AI training, inference, and high-performance computing workloads. Featuring expanded HBM4 memory capacity, leadership memory bandwidth, advanced support for low-precision AI datatypes, and AMD Helios rackscale architecture supporting 72 GPUs, MI455X accelerators enable faster model training, higher-throughput inference, and efficient deployment of large-scale foundation models and scientific applications.

For higher-density AI infrastructure, direct liquid cooling (DLC) options provide superior thermal management, enabling greater rack-level performance and improved energy efficiency at scale. Complementing the advanced hardware platform, the latest ROCm™ software innovations enhance AI training, inference optimization, and framework interoperability, delivering exceptional throughput, scalability, and low-latency performance across modern AI and HPC environments. Further, AMD Helios combines high-performance scale-up and scale-out AMD Pensando™ networking to help organizations build and expand AI infrastructure using open, standards-based technologies.

IDC forecasts a tenfold increase in the number and complexity of agents in the enterprise over the next five years. To support agent adoption and scale, enterprises require accelerated computing architecture that can accommodate the data-intensive workflow phases and repeated inference loops inherent to running AI agents.

“As enterprises transition into the agentic era, the massive influx of complex, data-intensive workflows requires a fundamental shift in infrastructure design,” said Dave McCarthy, Group Vice President, Cloud and Datacenter Infrastructure at IDC. “Vultr’s deployment of the AMD Instinct MI455X GPU provides the massive memory capacity and rack-scale efficiency necessary to support the continuous inference loops that define next-generation AI workloads.”

“AMD Helios rackscale solution brings the best of AMD compute and networking technology together into a single rack-scale building block, delivering leadership performance, performance per watt, and cost per token for the next wave of AI,” said Andrew Dieckmann, Corporate Vice President and General Manager, Data Center GPU Business Unit, AMD. “As demand accelerates for large-scale inference and frontier-model training, AMD Helios gives customers a clear path to scale from rack to cluster with the efficiency, economics, and openness needed to power the most demanding AI workloads.”

Vultr is now taking pre-orders for reserved capacity for deployments on the AMD Instinct MI455X and AMD Helios from 2027 through 2028. Contact sales to get started.
