New Vision Sensor Delivers Sub-Millimeter Measurement Accuracy at Distances Up to 10 Meters
MONROVIA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SiLC Technologies today announced the launch of Eyeonic®Edge, the newest addition to their laser scanner product lines. Edge is a 4D area scanner that extends the capabilities of the company’s award-winning Eyeonic Trace, the industry’s first laser line scanner to achieve 100-micron range precision at a distance of 5 meters away. While Trace is designed for objects moving on a conveyor belt, Edge delivers sub-millimeter range resolution at distances of up to 10 meters away and is targeted to large stationary items. The new Edge product family includes two variants: Eyeonic Edge and Eyeonic Edge Ultra.

Designed for industrial and warehouse automation, manufacturing inspection, robotics and construction environments, Eyeonic Edge is eye-safe and features a large 40x40 degree Field of View with real-time region of interest (ROI) and zooming capabilities. Edge features a long operating range, from .25 meters to 10 meters, and features unprecedented velocity measurement of a target in motion. Edge is differentiated by its measurement precision, especially at long distances and operates flawlessly on objects that are traditionally challenging for imaging solutions, such as very dark or shiny objects, and performs reliably in all conditions including dim, dusty warehouses, or outdoors in bright sunlight.
“The Eyeonic Edge 4D vision sensor is a game changer in the field of industrial automation,” said Mehdi Asghari, CEO of SiLC Technologies. “Building on the success of Eyeonic Trace, Eyeonic Edge extends our high-precision sensing platform to large-scale 3D inspection and measurement. Our customers are continuously looking for ways to increase throughput, improve quality, and reduce manual intervention. Together, Eyeonic Trace and Eyeonic Edge provide a complete sensing solution capable of delivering accurate measurements and inspections of moving or stationary objects in virtually any environment, from factory floors to outdoor operations.”

Enabling a New Class of Inspection Applications
Eyeonic Edge is targeted to a wide range of large items that require inspection and measurement at great distances. The field of view offered by Edge makes this task possible and the high precision and long operating range set Edge apart.
In automotive, aerospace, and shipbuilding manufacturing, Edge enables automated quality control to accurately measure panel alignment, gap and flush, dents, joints, and other structural features throughout the production process. Manufacturers of large assemblies, such as kitchen cabinets, can leverage Eyeonic Edge to automate dimensional verification and defect detection and Edge is also ideal for construction and architectural layouts. Beyond manufacturing, rental car agencies can scan vehicles at check-out and return to inspect vehicle condition and identify any damage incurred during the rental period. In mining and construction equipment, Edge enables the creation of a highly detailed digital twin for preventative maintenance.
“Our customers have asked for another high-resolution sensing solution from SiLC to augment their existing scanning capabilities,” added Asghari. “Modern manufacturing environments require the ability to inspect both fast-moving products on a conveyor and large stationary objects undergoing detailed quality control. Eyeonic Trace and Eyeonic Edge together provide a comprehensive inspection platform that enables manufacturers to automate a broader range of processes, improve quality and move closer to achieving fully autonomous operations.”
Demonstrations at AUTOMATE 2026
SiLC is featuring the Eyeonic Trace and new Eyeonic Edge product families this week at AUTOMATE 2026 in Chicago from June 22-25. SiLC is located at Booth #14015 and will showcase the unique capabilities of its vision systems to show attendees.
