Upcoming webinar to further expand upon themes addressed during recent UPCEA Conference
SCHAUMBURG, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--#isaca--Academic leaders from institutions across North America recently gathered at the UPCEA conference 2026 Convergence: Credential Innovation in Higher Education to discuss the value of industry-recognized credentials in higher education and workforce preparation.

During the conference, representatives from the University of Texas at Dallas, Louisiana Tech University, University Canada West, and University Niagara Falls Canada presented on how they are incorporating ISACA and other certifications and credential-aligned learning into their academic offerings. The discussions highlighted how the credentials complement degree programs and help students differentiate themselves as they enter or advance in the workforce.
All four institutions are ISACA Academic Partners, providing credentials to their students through custom programs. Through academic partnerships, ISACA helps institutions bridge academic theory with real-world skills to better prepare the next wave of students and digital trust professionals, including cybersecurity practitioners and IT auditors.
In a session titled, “No New Courses Required: Innovating Without Breaking the System,” the University of Texas at Dallas shared how they embedded credentials into existing courses to navigate governance bottlenecks and accelerate implementation.
Partners from Louisiana Technical University and the University of Texas at Dallas jointly presented a session titled, “The Best Marketing You Don’t Pay For: When Students Sell the Program for You,” discussing how credential-aligned programs drive organic growth through student outcomes, peer influence and word-of-mouth.
University Canada West, University of Niagara Falls Canada, and University of Texas Dallas leaders held a hands-on workshop where participants explored a practical process to connect credential domains to existing courses and programs.
