Fastweigh Brings Bulk Material Operations Data Into AI Conversations With New MCP Server

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fastweigh today introduced its Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, giving customers a way to work with Fastweigh data through the AI assistants they already use.

The new connection supports questions about tickets, orders, customers, products and other records in Fastweigh. Customers can use Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot or another compatible application to find information without first building a report or exporting the underlying data.

A user could ask for outbound tons by product across several locations, look up the activity associated with a ticket or find customers that have not hauled material during a given period. From there, the user can change the date range, narrow the results to one location or product, or ask to see the records behind the answer.

Customers can also use the MCP server as the foundation for agents, custom workflows and purpose-built applications. A company could create an agent that helps its dispatch team work through current orders, trucks and tickets, or build a focused data-entry and capture tool for a process unique to its operation. This gives customers the ability to build around their own business needs instead of limiting them to a standard report or dashboard.

“Fastweigh MCP gives customers the freedom to use and build on Fastweigh data from any AI assistant they choose,” said Eric Wilhite, Director of Product at Fastweigh. “It gives them a new way to work with their Fastweigh data without bypassing any permissions or controls their teams have established. Our goal is to make useful operational information easier to reach, so you can spend less time assembling it and more time acting on it.”

Customers can connect through a Fastweigh user account, single sign-on or a tenant API key. The assistant receives only the access available to that account or key. The connection is scoped to permissions already established in Fastweigh, preventing the user or AI from accessing data or actions they are not authorized to use. If a user requests a supported change, the assistant presents the existing and proposed values for review. The change is not saved until the user approves it, and Fastweigh records the action in an audit trail.

Fastweigh MCP gives customers another way to work with the information already moving through their operation, using the AI assistant that best fits their team. To learn more about Fastweigh, visit fastweigh.com.
