LUME, a lamp that does your chores, brings together fashion, home, design and technology.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SYNCERE is introducing LUME, a lamp that autonomously does everyday household chores while serving as a sculptural source of light in the home.
LUME folds laundry and makes the bed. When it is not working, it functions as a beautiful lamp that blends naturally into the home.
SYNCERE is introducing LUME during New York Fashion Week, where LUME is working backstage at the Altuzarra and Advsry shows. Its presence backstage connects the worlds of fashion, home, design and technology while demonstrating a simple idea: Technology can quietly take repetitive work off people’s hands and give them more time for what matters.
“LUME is a lamp that does your chores,” said Aaron Tan, founder and CEO of SYNCERE. “We’re building technology that gives people time back. LUME folds your laundry, makes your bed and then returns to being a beautiful lamp in your home. And this is just the beginning.”
For more than a century, lamps have largely done one thing: provide light. SYNCERE asked a different question: What else can a lamp do for you? LUME is the company’s first answer.
LUME also gets more capable over time. Through software updates, the same LUME will take on additional household chores, making the object increasingly useful to its owner. Beautiful and useful from day one, LUME is built to do more over time.
Design is central to LUME. SYNCERE believes technology should earn its place in the home through both beauty and usefulness. When LUME finishes its work, it returns to being a sculptural source of light that complements the room around it.
The Fall 2026 collection features colors developed for contemporary interiors, with new colors and collaborations planned each season. The idea reflects SYNCERE’s larger vision: technology that quietly takes care of the home, then disappears into the background when the work is done. At the center of LUME is a simple idea: The things in our homes should do more for us while demanding less of our attention.
“Our goal isn’t to fill the home with more technology,” Tan said. “It’s to create beautiful objects that quietly do more for you. LUME folds the laundry, makes the bed and then returns to being a lamp. As LUME gets more capable, it takes more repetitive work off your hands. Ultimately, we’re not trying to give people more technology. We’re trying to give them more time.”
SYNCERE’s long-term vision is a LUME in every room and, ultimately, homes that take care of more everyday work for the people who live in them.
LUME is autonomous and controlled through the SYNCERE app. The company plans to introduce additional ways to interact with LUME over time, including voice and gesture controls.
LUME is available by invitation, with SYNCERE prioritizing early customers in New York and the San Francisco Bay Area. Initial deliveries are expected in the first and second quarters of 2027.
LUME starts at $2,699. LUME Duet, which includes two LUMEs that work together, starts at $5,199.
Early customers are being offered a one-time fee that guarantees lifetime software updates. SYNCERE plans to introduce subscription options later.
Consumers can also experience and reserve LUME at select SYNCERE events across North America.
