Wrike Introduces Conversational AI Agent Builder Alongside a Series of Platform Updates

Driven by rapid customer adoption, surpassing 5.5 million AI actions, the new intuitive agent builder eliminates technical barriers, making end-to-end automation accessible to every team.

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Wrike, the trusted work delivery platform for people and AI, has launched its new Conversational AI Agent Builder, developed side-by-side with customers to make end-to-end workflow automation accessible to everyone. While nearly half of organizations fail to provide AI training, Wrike ensures teams do not need it. By removing the technical barriers typically associated with AI agent creation, Wrike allows users to build and deploy custom automation through simple, natural language.

This launch comes as customer demand for AI utility reaches an all-time high. Enterprise adoption of Wrike AI has tripled year over year since June 2025, with users executing more than 5.5 million AI agent actions and reducing process time by 93%. Customers have noted that complex workflows are the hardest to power with AI. With the Conversational AI Agent Builder, users don't need to be a prompt engineer. It's no-code, intuitive, and built for anyone to use.

“Over the last six months, we made a deliberate choice to solve the challenges that matter most to our customers, and the biggest one was this: powerful AI shouldn't require an engineer to unlock and should be approachable for all users," said Thomas Scott, CEO of Wrike. "We're at an inflection point where every team, not just technical ones, expects to harness AI to move faster and work smarter. The Conversational AI Agent Builder is how we deliver on that promise, simply, securely, and at scale.”

Context-Aware Automation: Conversational AI and Autonomous Agent Improvements

Wrike’s Conversational AI Agent Builder, built side-by-side with customer input, is a breakthrough capability that eliminates traditional software configuration friction, enabling teams to build smart automations in seconds using natural language.

Wrike AI Agents, which recently won in the AI-Enabled Business Process Management category at the AI TechAwards, move beyond static if-then rules to independently manage complex workflows. They now operate with richer context, able to read parent items and formula fields along with sibling tasks, so that every action is grounded in the full picture of work, not just the task in front of them.

To deliver true contextual execution, Wrike has introduced two enhancements to its agentic platform:

  • Ordered, context-aware agent actions: Wrike AI Agents can now execute steps in the exact order set in the builder, and each action can use the output of the one before it, making workflows more predictable, transparent, and effective.
  • Smart importance automation: Wrike AI agents can analyze task content alongside the current importance field value and intelligently update importance to high, normal, or low. Together, these enhancements make agents better equipped to follow multi-step workflows and automate task prioritization with greater accuracy.

With this deep understanding of workspace data, Wrike AI Agents can automatically restructure project folders, transition tasks, update multi-format custom fields, and execute complex business logic. They can also post directly to Slack and Microsoft Teams, send emails via Gmail and Outlook, initiate approval flows, and update task descriptions and date fields, bringing autonomous action into every corner of how work gets done.

AI Ecosystem Integration Updates

In parallel with these advancements, Wrike has modernized its core collaborative work management infrastructure to drive deeper ecosystem integration and break down silos between platforms.

  • Context-Driven Collaboration via MCP Server Connections: In parallel with these advancements, Wrike has expanded its Model Context Protocol (MCP) server connections to drive deeper ecosystem integration and break down silos between platforms. Since January 2026, MCP server connections have grown 16x, enabling agents to collaborate with tools both in and out of Wrike. This includes a new Klaxoon by Wrike MCP connection, also available as an app in ChatGPT, enabling AI assistants to identify topic-specific ideas from an existing workshop board, convert ideas into structured work artifacts in Wrike, and organize them automatically or instantly generate a new workshop board with simple prompts.
  • External AI Ecosystem Expansion: To deepen context and connect workflows, Wrike MCP Server can now be found in the Anthropic, Google, and OpenAI marketplaces, further embedding Wrike’s capabilities within the broader AI landscape.

Ease of Use and Adoption for Humans and AI Agents

To help organizations manage updates confidently, Wrike has introduced administrative controls and AI usage dashboards that support healthy enterprise adoption. Wrike administrators can now turn specific AI features on or off by user type and track AI budget consumption per user and per agent.

Complementing these controls, Wrike has also launched a number of platform updates aimed at eliminating friction within customer workflows that will equally benefit end users and AI agents. To reduce configuration sprawl, a leading cause of end-user confusion that leads to adoption friction, admins can now archive or deactivate unused workflows, custom fields, and custom item types without losing underlying data. To further support data integrity, “Required Fields on Status Change” now enforces mandatory data entry at every workflow transition. Simultaneously, Federated Space Configuration allows custom fields and workflows to be shared across multiple spaces without duplication, giving large organizations cleaner, more consistent reporting structures and a more reliable foundation for AI to operate on.
